Anti-drone crews cover the operation of Grad MLRS combat vehicles

The rocket artillery of the Southern Group of Forces operates at enemy strongholds and command posts, areas of concentration of forces, artillery and mortar batteries, and heavy equipment. To protect combat vehicles and their crews from attacks by enemy FPV drones, as well as to make it difficult for enemy reconnaissance UAVs, anti-drone crews work in cooperation with jet fighters.

After receiving the target coordinates from the scouts, moving to the salvo location takes only a few minutes. While the Grad is deployed to its position and the safety of the combat vehicle and artillerymen is ensured, an anti-drone crew of two people, equipped with a radar and an anti-drone gun, is provided. Using radar, military personnel monitor the sky and, if an enemy drone is detected, determine the frequency of its operation. All the necessary information is entered into the anti-drone gun, which is capable of landing an enemy UAV.

Military personnel note that such guns appeared in service several months ago and have already proven themselves to be excellent in combat. Their use significantly reduces the risk for combat vehicles of being suddenly attacked by drones. However, even such reliable systems are not always able to quickly seize control of an enemy unmanned device. In emergency cases, the crew notifies the artillerymen of the danger, and the combat vehicle quickly leaves the position.
