In this free video drum lesson, I want to teach you how to play my top 13 essential "Dave Grohl" drum beats, taken from his various bands such as Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Them Crooked Vultures, Queens Of The Stone Age, Tenacious D and Killing Joke.

With so many songs that Dave Grohl has drummed on, selecting drum beats for a list was a bit of challenge...albeit a very fun one! I based the choices on not just the complexity and showmanship, but also the musicality and mature choices Dave makes for his drum parts. We have lots of various ideas going on with tom based grooves, hi-hat work, flams galore and slick use of his single bass drum foot!
