Ever pondered the intricacies involved in constructing a boulder wall? The task is no small feat, and that’s precisely why the robot “HEAP” was conceived to lend a helping hand.

HEAP, short for Hydraulic Excavator for an Autonomous Purpose, is a 12-ton Menzi Muck M545 walking excavator that underwent modifications by a team from the ETH Zurich Research Institute.

These enhancements include a GNSS global positioning system, a chassis-mounted inertial measurement unit, a control module, LiDAR sensors, and an excavating arm, Fox News reported.
