Upper Peninsula Man Arrested For Arson Of His Own Home

Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office in the Upper Peninsula has arrested one man who is facing multiple charges including arson after firefighters respond to two 911 calls in less than a week.
The incident first happened on November 14th, when fire crews responded to a home fire on Forrest Lodge Road in Kincheloe. Six days later the fire crew was back at the same house fighting another fire. Both 911 calls came from the homeowner, Joseph Smith.
Upon an investigation it was found that Smith had made insurance claim for his loss in the fires.
He was arrested and has been charged with Arson and Arson of an insured dwelling.
