The latest GOP primary debate, broadcast on NewsNation and the CW Network on Wednesday night, garnered just over 4 million viewers. This marks a continuation of the declining trend in ratings since the first debate held in August.

The audience for the two-hour Tuscaloosa, Ala. debate experienced a 47% drop from the third debate on Nov. 8 in Miami, where an average of 7.51 million viewers watched five White House contenders engage in verbal sparring.

The initial debate of the election cycle, hosted by Fox News Channel in Milwaukee on Aug. 23, drew a significant 12.8 million viewers, making it the most-watched non-sports cable telecast of the year at that point, even surpassing the combined viewership of ABC, CBS, and NBC on that night, the New York Post reported.
