3 killed as shooting shuts down Vegas campus

On Wednesday afternoon, a shooting on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) campus resulted in three fatalities and one person sustaining injuries, as confirmed by the police.

Responding officers promptly neutralized the suspect at UNLV, ensuring there was no ongoing threat to the community.

According to two law enforcement sources cited by CBS News, the gunman was identified as a white male in his sixties, described as a former college professor who had previously taught in Georgia and North Carolina.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill, leading the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, shared at a news conference on Wednesday evening that they are aware of the suspect’s identity but will withhold his name until the families of the victims are informed.
