DESCRIPTION:

GJ 667 C c is a super Earth exoplanet that orbits an M-type star. Its mass is 3.8 Earths, it takes 28.1 days to complete one orbit of its star, and is 0.125 AU from its star. Its discovery was announced in 2011.

Despite receiving 90% of Earth's radiation, its potential for liquid water is suggested due to the star's infrared emission. Initial optimism waned as subsequent studies revealed uncertainties about its habitability, considering factors like mass, potential lack of a solid surface, and a likely absence of a sufficient magnetic field. While it falls within the habitable zone, uncertainties persist, questioning its suitability for life.
