Wat Khao Phra Sri Sanphetchayaram or Khao Phra temple for short. The temple houses a revered reclining Buddha image in a cave.

It is believed that this hilltop temple was founded during the Dvaravati period as archaeological evidence has been uncovered from that era. These include many stone Buddha statues, stone statues of the god Vishnu and more. Atop the hill is a ruin of a pagoda and a replica of the Lord Buddha's footprint, which had been carved from stone. The temple holds celebrations to honor the principal reclining Buddha image twice a year.

The name is Luang Pho Sang Sisan Petch, found in the Dvaravati period (6th-11th centuries). From the cave, you can take a staircase or a trail to the hilltop.

The top of Wat Khao Phra also has a historical site. You will see the remains of an old stupa believed to be built during the Dvaravati period and renovated again during the Ayutthaya period. The ruin has only its square base (10m in width and 1.3m in height). It is one of several ancient pagodas found in U Thong. The Fine Arts Department registered all as national heritage sites.

The temple is fun to see with nice views of the surrounding area. U-Thong is not on the normal tourist trail but there are many things in the area to see.
