‘Nowhere is safe in Gaza’ as Israeli forces close in on areas north and south

Heavy fighting has been taking place across Gaza - with Israeli and Hamas forces taking part in house to house battles, reaching the centre of the southern city of Khan Younis.
The United Nations chief Antonio Gutteres invoked an emergency article of the UN's charter - urging the security council to help avert a humanitarian catastrophe. He said public order in Gaza was set to break down altogether - warning that the conflict "could aggravate existing threats to international peace and security".
A warning - there are distressing images in Kiran Moodley's report.
