Lakeport California Deputy Involved Shooting

On November 16, 2023, around 1:45 PM,
deputies responded to the 100 block of Dixon Drive
in Lakeport, California, for a report of an assault,
where a knife was reported to be involved.

Upon arrival, Deputies found the driveway barricaded
with several vehicles and a boat. Deputies entered the
property and contacted the alleged suspect of the reported
assault.

Shortly after contacting the suspect, the suspect drew
a concealed loaded firearm from their waste band.

This incident was captured on the responding deputy's body worn camera. Body worn video cameras are used by most deputies assigned to field duties. They are worn at chest level and capture a general perspective within line of sight from that angle. The camera angle prohibits viewers from seeing everything the deputies saw and experienced.
