Zionism | How can any Christian claim modern day Israel is "God's chosen people" when there is literally no requirement to be descended from Abraham to be an Israeli citizen?

Even if you believe the false dispensationalist view that God unconditionally promised the land of Israel to the Jews forever (even though the OT explicitly states many times this is a conditional promise, e.g Deut 4:25-27), how does that apply to modern day Israel when anyone can establish citizenship in Israel without any proof of being a descendant of Abraham? This is not “God’s chosen people. It’s literally nothing more than a secular political state comprised of both Jews and non-Jews that occupies the ancient Holy Land under the name “Israel.” Why are so many Christians so easily fooled by this? It’s quite obvious when you think about it.
