UN: ‘Situation in Gaza is apocalyptic for Palestinians’

Volker Turk, the UN Human Rights Chief, said on Wednesday that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are living in “apocalyptic” circumstances.

He urgently called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and warned of a high risk of atrocity crimes in the “catastrophic” humanitarian conditions.
