Body pulled from Cape Coral canal Monday

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police are investigating a body that was found in a Southeast Cape canal Monday morning. The scene is in the area of Gleason Parkway and SE 2nd Avenue in Cape Coral. Police say a neighbor found the body in the canal, and they are investigating whether it is connected to a missing person's case. "I was going to take my boat and go take a look at it," says the neighbor. "And when I hooked it I brought it in and it was real heavy."  After getting the body on the hook, the neighbor says he brought the body to the seawall and that is when he discovered it was a body.  Investigators have not released the identity of the person but they do not suspect foul play.
