CBC TO LAY OFF 600 EMPLOYEES | MERRY CHRISTMAS

CBC/Radio-Canada plans to lay off 600 employees across the country at the start of the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Catherine Tait, the CEO, reportedly informed staff about the widespread job cuts during a meeting earlier this week, as reported by LaPresse. Approximately 85% of union members and 15% of non-union workers will be affected by these layoffs. The French-speaking division of the broadcaster expects to lose at least 250 positions.
