Episode 1 The Limits of Scientific Certainty

This is our first episode of Duality Check. We wanted to start laying some groundwork for all the wild directions we’re going to go in the future. The first piece of that is talking about science. It’s our best tool for understanding the world around us. It’s reshaped our world and our every day lives. However, there are some areas where science comes up short.

Topics include dark matter and dark energy. We spend some time talking about the mysteries of gravity, quantum physics and the theories that try to combine them together into a grand “theory of everything.” We talk about consciousness, teleportation and reincarnation. We have fun trying out some different illusions to show how crazy the brain is. We compare hard sciences to soft sciences and then discuss fields like psychology and egyptology. We lament over all the deliberately destroyed knowledge. We round out the episode discussing the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis and the replication crisis in science.
