How do you build trust and credibility at work? Take responsibility for mess ups! Mistakes happen every single day, and the team members willing to take responsibility are the ones that people can rely on to be truthful.

If you are a leader or manager, you are setting the example for your team about how to show up. Will you teach them to make excuses and point fingers, or will you show them that even leaders can make mistakes?

When your team messes up (and they will) do you want to have to find the problem or have them bring it to you?

Take responsibility in all your roles and relationships and watch the trust around you grow to include your team.
