This is a music video creation from the childhood of Nik Stamps, this video comes from a comedy collection called "The Lawnton Street Variety Show". This nostalgic music video, is the final act from that variety show created by Nik Stamps in 2008 while he attended film school in NYC. Nik went through 90+ hours of videotape footage that he recorded from 1996 to 1999 of his daily life. It was footage of friends, family, just fun times of teenage life mixed with attempts at making 'real films' with the kids in the neighborhood. So with a lot of editing & good music to bring the nostalgia this project Nik created was ultimately a love letter to his childhood, the life of growing up in the late 1990's...the period just before the millennium, when everything changed from the digital age... In 2008 at college Nik was finally able to edit the raw footage that he recorded the previous decade. Random video projects he first started ten years previously were finally finished thanks to technology and his pursuit of filmmaking. All the dozens of hours on each videotape lead to the remarkable end result.... Nik created a 45 minute variety show as it was named, it's basically a YouTube playlist of life in the late 1990's just before smartphones, social media & YouTube changed everything. It was a short film created by an aspiring artist clearly focused on following his passion for entertainment and art. This short music video that is just part of a bigger project, that memorializes childhood & innocence of a special time that was celebrated through the camera of Nik Stamps.
