Men tend to be very logical when communicating. Instead of describing the feeling and sensations of a story to capture emotion, they just go over all the facts and logical details of the story. This is effective and efficient when communicating about something where getting down to the point is necessary. But in a casual interaction at a social gathering where the objective is to have fun, it is far better to take the time to be more descriptive and paint the picture of the emotion that took place in your story.
