Patrick Durkin suffered psychosis after taking meth due to personal circumstances which went out of control. In a final attempt to get help he held up a McDonalds with a knife and waited for the police while he ate a burger. He was found not guilty of the charges against him due to incapacity and held inside an asylum, drugged and in the company of dangerously mentally ill people while himself reaching complete sanity and a new clarity in his life.
