COP28 president backtracks fossil fuel remarks after pressure from Western media

At the COP-28 UN climate conference, its president has been forced to row back on comments he made about phasing out fossil fuels, in the face of mounting media pressure. Sultan Al Jaber made the claims last month, but this Monday he stated his words were misinterpreted, and expressed his respect for science.
