5th Global Convention of Solidarity with Palestine | Johannesburg South Africa

The 5th Global Convention of Solidarity with Palestine is in Johannesburg. Nelson Mandela's grandson, Mandla Mandela urged support must be given to Palestine for its resistance against an apartheid occupation. Attention was placed on the Arab countries needing to do more. Lebanon's MP, Irbahim Moussawi spoke on Arab countries doing more to assist Palestine. He urges actions and not just words. There were representatives from 72 countries. The convention coincides with the 10th anniversary of the death of former President, Nelson Mandela.

November 29, 2023 was International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People which began in 1978. It was created by the United Nations in 1977. On November 29, 1947, the UN General Assembly adopted its Resolution 181 which partitioned Palestine. It holds responsibility for the struggle of Palestinians that continues today.
