The electronics I use are old and beat,

They can't capture the misery I meet.

My life is defined by standard definition,

I can't afford to pay rent, it's a tough position,

All my energy is lost, I can't even eat,

I'm left with time and grime, it's a defeat.

Why can't workers be rewarded for their work?

Why must they suffer while leaders shirk?

Their duty to help the lowly live,

For their own greed, they choose to give.

My microphone is old, with static pop,

It echoes the shame of what I can't shop,

I can't afford to adore, to want more,

There's nothing left, it's a constant war.

Money in my pocket is scarce,

There's no change in my drawer, it's worse,

Quarters looted, counting crumbs,

Making them last for weeks to come.

Art arises from the depths of despair,

Hunger creates wails and cries of despair,

Desperation for anyone who cares,

To listen to a beggar, a lost sheep on the road.

Why do we pass those in need,

Do they deserve their hand when it's not theirs to hold?

We must question the ethics of greed,
