The signs will be installed in the western part of the state to begin with and will activate if a driver is going the wrong way on the road or a freeway ramp. MDOT says cameras will also be installed with the signs to help police locate wrong way drivers quicker. The program may extend to Metro Detroit if MDOT can secure funding.
