The former MLB manager and World Series champion was elected by the Contemporary Baseball Era Non-Players Committee on Sunday. Leyland was the only member of the eight-person ballot to receive at least 75-percent of the votes from committee members. The 78-year-old was a three-time Manager of the Year and helped guide the Pittsburgh Pirates, Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies and Detroit Tigers over his historic career. Leyland and the Marlins won the 1997 World Series.
