ACCIONA Energía enters Peru with the construction of a 131-MW wind farm
The new ACCIONA Energía renewable facility will consist of 23 wind turbines with a forecast capacity of 5.7 MW that will produce energy equivalent to 608 gigawatt-hours (GWh) i.e. the demand of 478,000 Peruvian homes, avoiding the emission of around 275,000 tonnes of CO2 to the atmosphere per year.

The acquisition and construction of San Juan de Marcona is ACCIONA Energía’s first entry into the Peruvian renewables market and represents an investment of around US$180 million (€158 million). Construction work on the wind farm began in April 2022 and the facility will be fully operational towards the end of 2023.
