  • 571 Fahrenheit was a futuristic movie about the burning of all books thus all past knowledge in hard copy. I remember seeing it maybe even in the 1960s. I am a lover of the written word. What has locked this in my mind was the scene of a woman whom collected every book she could. When they came for her books she would not leave and, as I remember it, she was burnt alive. Firemen,at that time, in the movie lit fires, not put them out. The main character was a fireman and that moment turned his life around. I was young but remember thinking. I would be that woman.
