Credible's Classic Matches: Wales v England (1981)

We go WAY back in time to the days of the amateur/semi-pro game and to the old Arms Park Stadium which was demolished in 1997 in order to make way for the Millennium Stadium (now renamed as the Principality Stadium) on the east bank of the River Taff in the centre of Cardiff in South Wales.

After the hey-day of their 70s exploits, the 80s would be a difficult time for Wales as they struggled to maintain their winning consistency and this would sadly last into the 90s with Wales dropping in stature until the coming of Graham Henry and the professionalisation of the sport.

A lot of the old legends are here - Bill Beaumont (now the Head of World Rugby) and Dusty Hare (always a cracking name) for England and Steve Fenwick, Graham Price and Geoff Wheel for Wales.
