Planned and Perceived Obsolescence | The Secret Ingredients for Corporate Greed
Planned and perceived obsolescence have plagued the modern day consumer for too long! Planned Obsolescence being when companies make their products with cheap parts so they break faster, and Perceived Obsolescence being when a company makes you feel like your product is obsolete due to the fact that its not the newest model. Both of which are designed to get you to buy more and MORE of the same product.
GMC, Samsung, Nike, and even companies like Apple are all behind the scenes concocting new ways to influence your purchasing decisions. Knowing they will just come out with a new product a year later only to jam it down your throat and make you feel like your current product is just no good. But WHY are we so complacent with this practice?
