In an interview with the channel, Tim Stewart, president of the US Oil and Gas Industry Association, explained that such a crisis threatens the country's strategic and national security.
"Just over a year ago, the Biden administration initiated the largest reserve drawdown in our history simply because they needed to survive an election cycle - not even a hurricane or a war," Stewart notes. He says rebuilding the reserve will be "very expensive and long" and clearly won't happen in the near future.
