Matthew 25:1-13, parable and prophetic message using the Jewish wedding. Betrothal (equivalent to today's legal marriage certificate), presentation (example: the wedding feast), ceremony (example: exchanging of the vows), and finally the marriage is consummated. The bridegroom is Christ, and the virgins are professed believers. Christ is coming again, He will judge among the people, the people need to be prepared, and there will be no 2nd chances and no purgatory (Luke 16).

Matthew 25:2-3, those with no oil
2 Timothy 3:5, these are those people with no oil for their lamps
James 2:17, they had only the appearance of faith (not saved); professing faith in Christ without salvation, is worthless

Matthew 25:6-9, salvation is not transferable; saved people can only share the gospel of Jesus Christ, etc., but they cannot transfer their salvation onto others
Romans 9:3, Paul admitting that salvation was not transferable

Matthew 25:9-10, salvation cannot be bought with a price- it can only come from God through Jesus Christ
Matthew 13:45-26, the pearl of great price is salvation by Christ alone

Matthew 25:10-12, the opportunity for salvation will not be available forever
Luke 13:25-28, the unknown point in time when God's invitation expires for those who deny it
Matthew 25:13, the warning: 'Watch therefore'
