Child-Like Faith - 3
In Matthew 18:1-4, Jesus tells His disciples that the only people who will be able to enter the Kingdom of God are those who humble themselves and become like children. What does Jesus mean when He asks us to become like children? What does that look like in our lives? As adults, how can we become like children? Are we to throw off all learning and responsibility and play all the time?
This teaching explores these questions from a unique perspective. This perspective comes from a 2 part revelation that involves these concepts:
Although we humans want to know everything and think we can know at least most things, the truth is that compared to God and the knowledge of the universe, we humans barely know enough to tie our own shoes. Operating in truth and knowledge requires this child-like faith.
The Hebrew word for “know” can mean to have knowledge or to have a close relationship – quite different from our English version of “to know.” This Hebrew word interpreted as a close relationship in certain scriptures is the key to “knowing” Jesus in a way that we come into a child-like relationship with the Word, the Truth, Wisdom, Life, etc.
Sound confusing? Good – you’ll need to dive into this teaching to understand and know (pun intended). But, if you are like me, this revelation has literally set me free in many ways and brought me into a new level of relationship with Jesus.
