Kennedy Center Honors Celebrate Icons of Arts and Entertainment
In a star-studded event, the latest recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors, including comedian Billy Crystal and actor Queen Latifah, are being celebrated for their lifetime achievements in arts and entertainment. The black-tie gala also honors opera singer Renée Fleming, music star Barry Gibb, and prolific hitmaker Dionne Warwick, with personalized tributes featuring secret appearances and performances. President of the Kennedy Center, Deborah F. Rutter, praised the inductees as "an extraordinary mix of individuals who have redefined their art forms." Crystal, known for his diverse career from "Soap" to iconic movies like "When Harry Met Sally..." and "The Princess Bride," joins an elite group of comedians recognized for both Kennedy Center Honors and the Mark Twain Prize.
