Nearly 51 million expected to travel for Thanksgiving

Today, Wednesday November 22, 2017 is the busiest travel day since 2005, according to according to Triple-A. Nearly 51 million people are expected to travel at least 50 miles away from home during the Thanksgiving holiday week. Triple-A projected that an additional 1.6 million will travel via rails, skies and roads when compared to the 2016 Thanksgiving holiday. However, 45 million of the entire number of travelers will still be traveling via car even though gas prices are at the highest they have been during the holiday since 2014.
