Footage covers works at the Dashun 1st Rd Love River bridge (Longhua Bridge) at Sanming District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
The hoisting of the new Longhua Bridge for Kaohsiung Light Rail Transit was performed on September 2, 2023. On the previous weekend some of the concrete 'I' beams of the existing road bridge were removed. The two superstructures of the steel bridge had been assembled at a nearby yard. Each of the superstructures was assembled from three segments that had been transported on the road from the China Steel factory. Each superstructure is 43.75 meters long and weighs about 205 tons. A special carrier was used to transport them one at a time to the Love River site.
