We don't feed an unknown dog because only its human companion knows what it should eat. Likewise, we don't offer sweets or any other food, except for washed fruits, to a child who isn't ours. Even if they are our neighbor, relative, or family friend. Only their parents know what, how much, and when is allowed. Because we don't know if there's any medical issue, and we can't be sure we're not doing any harm. But it's important not to forget that sugar is a big enemy of humanity. Sugar addiction is eight times stronger than drug addiction. Offering sweets to an unknown child can be as serious as giving a dose to an addict or a drink to an alcoholic.
