Episode 012 - The Zodiac Killer Part 2

Ciphers and suspects.

It is not my intention to give anyone a deep lesson in cryptography. I felt some basics were needed to familiarize viewers with the subject and to show how seemingly impenetrably hidden messages are rarely ever such, especially in the Digital Age. It also gives on a general idea of how unusually well crafted the Zodiac codes are. As evil and degenerate as the man who called himself Zodiac was, he proved himself in his ciphers to be a uniquely gifted individual.

As many of you undoubtedly know, David Oranchak, Sam Blake, and Jarl Van Eycke appear to have cracked the z340 cypher as of December 2020. Though this doesn't really have an effect on this video, as the concepts and narrative are still (mostly) valid, this does peel away at least one layer of the mystery.
