Former New York Congressman Lee Zeldin says state legislators are stonewalling retailers who ask them to address the surge in organized shoplifting rings. “It impacts the local economy. It impacts the amount of tax receipts by government. And when these businesses fold or when these businesses move, this isn’t just putting a state or community in time-out. They’re saying ‘That’s it. I’m done.’,” says Zeldin.
