Exhortation Sometimes the aspect of God’s providence is what we need. Maybe a loss of job or other material trial. Though I do not suggest that is only what Fr De Caussade meant, our modern English gives a better appropriation of that term. Other times, when we face the drudgery of living, cooking, reports, leaning on Bro Lawrence’s terminology might be a better fit.

The Lord knows our littleness. In humility accept His benevolence in the manner best suited for you.
