BC Cancer is developing new artificial intelligence techniques to improve the detection of lung cancer.

The technology is being created by the lung cancer research team at BC Cancer, which was awarded two "large multi-institution grants" to create and evaluate a "novel breath test."

In order to help diagnose lung cancer early on and comprehend how changes in the lung microbiome may signify lung cancer in "never smokers," the test will use artificial intelligence to analyze chemical markers in the breath.
