• Rom. 12:9-10 Most of us have learned how to be courteous to others—how to speak kindly, avoid hurting their feelings, and appear to take an interest in them. But God calls us to real and genuine love that goes far beyond being hypocritical and polite. Genuine love requires concentration and effort. It means helping others become better people. It demands our time, money, and personal involvement. No individual has the capacity to express love to a whole community, but the body of Christ in your town does. Look for people who need your love, and look for ways you and your fellow believers can love your community for Christ.

• Rom. 12:11 “Not lagging behind in diligence” also is an exhortation. People may call you a fanatic, but being zealous is an important characteristic of a Christian. Zeal for God’s house consumed the Lord Jesus (Joh_2:17). The question is simply for what or whom are you zealous? Are you “fervent in spirit”? Serving the Lord is willingly serving Him as a slave. Then you are completely at His disposal. He decides what you have and do not have to do. This includes your time, your strength and your capabilities. He wants to use everything. The Lord redeemed you from the power of sin. He now wants your body as a living sacrifice.

• Rom 12:12 Hope is futuristic and it is the basis of good things to come. The Lord will soon come. Then you will be with Him forever. With this future in view it is possible to be “persevering in tribulation”. It is also important to note the admonition to pray and necessity of “prayer”. This is how the Lord Jesus lived down here. In Psalm 109:4 He says: “I am [in] prayer” (Psa_109:4). All through His life He was in touch with His God and Father. Prayer should never be a passion in the past, but present continuous. We are also admonished to show patience in all troubles because God will always come through.

Personal Supplication
Father, I receive the grace to wait patiently on You because it is always certain that You will come through for me in Jesus' name. Ps 27:14
14 Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

I decree in the name of Jesus, from this moment forward, I see myself the way God sees me. I am highly favoured of the Lord. I am crowned with glory and honour. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
