Today Neurodegenerative disorders are relatively common:

Alzheimer's disease affects about 45 million
Parkinson's disease 8.5 million
ALS 500,000
Huntington's disease 400,000

These disorders are still rising in prevalence.

Currently, these disorders are classified based on their
1-primary neurological symptoms,
2-primary neurodegenerative regions and
3-primary neuron protein aggregates

AD: dementia; hippocampus; amyloid beta and tau
PD: Parkinsonism; substantia nigra; alpha, synuclien
ALS: limb and dulbar weakness; motor cortex and brainstem; TDP 43
HD: Chorea, striatum, and neocortex; mutant, HTT

Health care is also split into specialities
-restricted to diagnosing and managing within it's own level

Consider this an iceberg:
Peak: neurological symptoms
Middle: neurodegenerative regions
Bottom: neuron aggregates

Therefore, the neuron aggregates are seen as
-the ultimate cause of each of these disorders
