Codependents are often involved in toxic relationships with those with Borderline Personality, Narcissistic Personality, Anti-Social Personality Disorders. They worry about their "needs" and they feel that if they left them they would be "abandoning them" and that deep down inside these people somewhere must be empathy or love if a codependent tries hard enough to help, to fix, to rescue, which really only enables the person you are with and is you being partly responsible for how much pain you are in.
