Freestore Foodbank begins Thanksgiving distribution

Cincinnati's Freestore Foodbank will provide meals to thousands of people this Thanksgiving. Kurt Reiber, president of the Freestore Foodbank, said that there are a lot of misconceptions about who uses the food pantry. "Many people have the idea that the families we serve aren’t working or looking for a handout; the reality is that close to 75 percent of families are working but not making enough money to make ends meet," Reiber said. Last year, the Freestore Foodbank provided 25 million meals to its service area. Reiber said the holidays are their busiest time but said to remember that food security isn't seasonal.
