The sun's continuous spectrum hides an inconvenient finding - gases cannot give off perfect thermal spectra. Such a simple, elegant realization - but it could portend much larger changes on the horizon for astrophysics and cosmology. Introducing The Liquid Metallic Hydrogen Hypothesis.
