Last week we hiked in the #canadianrockies. This week we travel up north in search for bears. Not any bear, in this part of #Canada one can observe the legendary Grizzly. It is our mission of the week we will find a #Grizzly! Remember our struggle to find bears back in #Finland? Well since we arrived in Canada it has been about the same. Everyone told us we would be able to see them. From Nova Scotia onward, every traveler or local would brag about how easy it is to see bears, just along the road or trails. As much as we are concerned it has been a constant failure. We searched again and again, passed by one on a trail but never saw it… We know it, this must be now. We enter Jasper National Park through the #icefieldsparkway. A cold land made of light blue rivers and glaciers melting from the mountain passes. Quite a drive. In Jasper, we met randomly two travelers on a motorbikes journey around north America and Africa. Funny enough we follow their trip, it is #CapitaineMorgan and his friend Max Capella. After a few days hiking in the area, still no bears in sight. Every traveler we meet tell us they have seen black bears in the area. One morning we decide to take our destiny in our own hands and wake up before sunrise to explore a wild road of the park of Jasper with the reputation of hosting a lot of wildlife. We drive our nose stuck to the windows. Right there, in front of us, as we are about to lose hope: It is eating berries in the bush. Could not care less about our presence. Our wish was fulfilled! We have seen a Grizzly!
