How to live on the road full-time with Solar Panels! Consumption VS Charge (World Tour Expedition)

This video is about our Electrical Consumption while living full-time in our Land Rover Defender and our Solar Energy Charge from the solar panels we have installed on the roof and a plug & play model we use as an extra when needed.

The big question being: Are we getting enough charge from the sun and solar panels for all our electrical consumptions?
- We have a fixed full time 120 watts solar panel on the roof.
- A 120 watt plug&play foldable solar panel stored in the car.

In this video you will see how much energy we usually use on a normal day, using the fridge, heater, charging our equipment (laptop, drone, camera, GoPro, phones, etc...) versus how much solar energy we are getting from the sun.

And... The answer is YES!

You will see why in this video! and we hope it will be helpful for you to get an idea on what is the right solar panel for you.

Little tips you do to improve your solar charge:
- The orientation of the panels, have them as perpendicular to the sun for maximum charge.
- No shadows in front of the panels.
- Clean the panels.
- No damaged or cracked cells.
- Clear blue sky.

We learned so much during this video, we really were super eager to see if our solar panels would breakeven without our consumption. Luckily yes! We aren't fully sufficient to live offgride as we only have 1 lithium auxiliary battery for all our appliances, and 1 AGM battery we keep save for our vehicle ignition, winch and compressor. We are however getting more charge from the solar panels then we are consuming, which for us is already a massive win!

A tiny house that produces it's own energy is the ultimate adventure home on wheels. As full timers we need a reliable electrical system and we think our current set up is great.

We're extremely happy to be ambassadors of SUNWARE as they truly delivered on their promises in terms of solar efficiency, quality and sustainability! The team is very helpful and always available when I had a question.
We are not here to push you to purchase from anyone, but we can tell you that we validate and can recommend the Sunware Solar Panels. Now up to you to make your decision :)
We have the 120 watt RX model, and the 120 watt Series-20 model.
