In this video I go over the cylinder ID, firing order and ignition wire routing on a GM 4.3L V-6. The cylinder ID starting from the front of the engine going back on the driver side is 1,3 and 5. On the passenger side starting from the front going back it is 2,4 and 6. the firing order is 1,6,5,4,3 and 2. As mentioned in the video the wire routing is simple. The distributor cap of the distributor is numbered at the base of each ignition wire connector. These numbers correspond to the particular cylinder that each ignition wire connector fires. So naturally one end of each ignition wire goes to the ignition coil connectors on the ignition cap. The other end of each ignition cable goes the spark plug of the respective cylinder that is indicated on the ignition cap.

Note: The GM Vortec 4.3L V-6 has been used on many GM vehicles. The information found in this video should apply in part or in whole to most of these engines.
