How-to prepare your Flow Hive frames and give your bees a head start. If you own a Flow Hive or a Flow Hive 2 and the bees aren't taking to the flow frames this simple tip should get them pointed in the right direction. I have heard many people say "The bees are not sealing the flow frames" or "the bees don't like the flow frames" but they may just need a little push in the right direction. I am pre-waxing the flow frames to make it easier for the bees to complete the frames in time for the spring nectar flow. Last year I was only able to harvest from one flow hive because the bees in the second hive never finished waxing the frames. When I installed the first flow hive last season I had pre-waxed the frames and the bees took right to it. I hope that pre-waxing the flow hive frames works on the second flow hive this year.
