Google has reached an agreement with Ottawa over Canada’s Online News Act, which is set to take effect in December.

Heritage Minister Pascale St-Onge announced the agreement on Wednesday, stating that Google will pay $100 million annually to compensate news organizations, with the amount indexed to inflation.

However, the distribution of funds among organizations has yet to be negotiated.
