Regarding this episode: The U.S. Department of Justice claims that an Indian government agent gave one of its nationals instructions to hire a hitman to kill a Sikh activist who lived in New York. Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who holds dual Canadian and American citizenship, is thought to be that activist. As allegations that the Indian government is attempting to kill and muzzle vocal dissidents, Jackson Proskow reports on how authorities believe the potential murder-for-hire scheme was foiled and the connection to the June death of Canadian Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia.
Now let's turn our attention to the Middle East. Negotiations to prolong the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip are almost at an end.
